Lincoln Library's Extension
Services We Deliver!
Are you a homebound reader or do you know someone who is? Lincoln Library's Extension Services can help. Our staff delivers books via our book van to senior citizen high rises, retirement communities and individual residences.
How do you qualify for service? If you live in the corporate limits of Springfield and cannot come to Lincoln Library or its branches due to age, extended illness, or physical condition, you can receive our services free of charge. Your property taxes support this service. You do not have to be permanently disabled, nor is age a consideration. If you live outside the corporate limits, you may still qualify for service by paying the annual non-resident fee, if you are not served by another library.
What kinds of books do we deliver? The library will bring you books in your favorite subject area. We have best sellers, novels, hard back and paperback books. We have a large selection of romances, westerns, mysteries, inspirational, biographies and general fiction or non-fiction. Audiobook cassettes and compact discs, video tapes, DVDs, and music CDs are also available. In addition, we offer several current magazines. Books and magazines are available in large-print or regular format.
Deliveries are made once every two weeks to homebound or once every four weeks to high rises and retirement communities.
How do you begin? Just call Extension Services at 753-4930 or TDD 217-753-4947. We will be happy to talk with you about our service and set up a convenient routine for delivering books to you.
