How do I reserve library material?
There are two methods for reserving material.
By
“Request”
If
the material is listed in the library’s catalog, but all copies are currently
checked out, a “Request” is place through the library catalog.
A notice is mailed or emailed to the customer when a copy becomes available.
The material is held at the library’s circulation desk for five days.
If the item is not picked up within that time period, the material is put
back into general circulation. Material
not owned by “Lincoln Library” can usually be renewed 1 time if there are no
requests for the item.
By
“Interlibrary Loan”
If
the material is not listed in the library’s catalog, an “Interlibrary
Loan” form is filled out at any service desk. The material is searched for in
libraries outside of Lincoln Library’s region. If
the material is found, the customer is notified by mail when it arrives at
Lincoln Library. The material will
be held for pick-up for five days (unless otherwise indicated) and has a loan
period of two weeks. Customers are
responsible for paying the owning library’s fees for any damage or lost
materials.
