Summer Reading Programs

  • Art Colors Your World
    • Come view art by local artists in celebration of Lincoln Library's Summer Reading Program!
Art is displayed on the 1st floor at the display cases behind the circulation desk, on the 2nd floor in the Computer Classroom next to the Multipurpose Room, and on the 3rd floor in the Defrate's Reading Room!  Art will rotate throughout the Summer, with new artists being shown each week.
  • Scavenger Hunt
    • #LucilesGame

A last request of Lucile Fritz, former reference librarian at Lincoln Library, was that a game she developed would be put into place throughout Springfield, IL in hopes that the community will come together to unravel the clues, but most importantly have some fun together.

To Participate in Lucile’s Game register online at lincolnlibraryil.beanstack.com. Submit the answers to each clue you unravel on Beanstack to earn your badges. If you earn all 8 badges you will be entered into a raffle for a grand prize! Work together with your fellow Springfieldians by using #LucilesGame on social media. Clues will be shared periodically through Lincoln Library’s Facebook page so be sure to follow it to stay up to date!

  • Arts in the Park!
    • Paint in the park with local Springfield artists! This is a chance to experience a paintbrush in your hand while surrounded in the beautiful nature that is the Washington Park. Whether you are a novice or experienced painter, this will be a relaxing and fun evening to get creative! All materials will be provided by Lincoln Library.
