Youth Summer Reading 2021

Summer Reading 2021 Reading Colors Your World June 8-July 31

Why Summer Reading?

Why is reading during the summer so important? Because it keeps your mind working! According to studies, children and teens who don’t read during the summer can lose up to two months of learning! Multiplication tables? Gone! What’s photosynthesis? Don’t remember! Who was the 16th President? Not a clue! No worries! Lincoln Library is here to help with our Summer Reading Game!

Summer Reading Challenges

Summer Reading Game

It’s simple: You get a prize for every 120 minutes (two hours) you read. What the prize is changes every week!

Stop by the library to pick up your Summer Reading Log, or record your minutes virtually with our Beanstack app. For more information about Beanstack, and to sign up, go to https://lincolnlibraryil.beanstack.org.

Teen Challenge

Teens, don’t worry we didn’t forget about you this summer! We have a Teen Challenge to keep you motivated! It’s simple!  Every time you complete a book, fill out a raffle ticket, and stick it in our nifty Raffle Box located in the Youth Services area. Click here for a ticket to print. Come August we’ll select a name out of the box, and that lucky teen will score a $50 Barnes & Noble Gift Card! For more information, or questions, email lincollibrary.ys@gmail.com.
