Banned Books Café

Join Lincoln Library staff at the close of Banned Books Week 2022 as we celebrate our freedom to read! Come enjoy light refreshments and listen to library staff from all departments reading passages from their favorite banned and challenged books. All ages are welcome to come, sit awhile, snack a little, and take in the meaningful words from these books sometimes considered "too dangerous to read."

This year's Banned Books Week runs September 19-24. It is an annual event sponsored by the American Library Association whose goal is to celebrate the freedom to read and to spotlight current and historical attempts to censor books in libraries and schools. It brings together librarians, booksellers, publishers, journalists, teachers, and readers in support of creative and intellectual freedom.
