Flaws In The System: Weak Guardrails

Having taken a look through our current system, let's identify some of the flaws our history has revealed.

What guardrails should have been put in place that weren't? What unforeseen maneuver was allowed to happen because no one writing the previous Constitution thought it could? Corruption. Power grabs. Misuse of government resources. Felonious presidents.

What rules or procedures could be put in place to prevent future abuses of power?
