Program Description

Event Details

Do you have a lot of unused craft supplies gathering dust in storage? Have you ever wanted to try a new craft, but didn't want to splurge on expensive materials? Then come to the Library's Craft Supply Exchange! Bring in your unused fabric, yarn, scrapbook paper, and whatever other crafting supplies you no longer need, and share them with other crafters! You just might find the supplies you need to create your next crafting masterpiece! Any supplies leftover after the program will be donated to the library and to local organizations in need of crafting supplies.

You can bring in supplies to donate in advance of the program by dropping them off at the Reference Desk, or bring them to the Craft Supply Exchange on the day of. Please make sure that any items you donate are clean and in usable condition. To ensure that everyone who attends the Craft Supply Exchange will have a chance to take home some supplies, there will be a take-home limit of one bag of supplies per patron.

 

Things that can be donated include (but are not limited to!):

  • Scrapbooking supplies (scrapbook paper, stickers, decoupage glue, scissors, stamps, etc)
     
  • Sewing notions (buttons, thread, zippers & fasteners, seam rippers, etc)
     
  • Fabric and fabric notions (like ribbons, bias tape, etc)
     
  • Art supplies (markers, paints, colored pencils, paintbrushes, sketchbooks, etc)
     
  • Knitting and crochet supplies (needles & crochet hooks, yarn, stitch markers & holders, etc)
     
  • Jewelery making supplies (beads, pliers, chains, charms, etc)
     
  • Kid's craft supplies (pom poms, felt, googly eyes,construction paper, etc)
     
  • Craft project kits (if mostly intact)
