Event Details

This Pride Month, join Lincoln Library’s Sangamon Valley Collection for a free walking tour of historic LGBT+ sites in Downtown Springfield. From Ethel Mars to Smokey’s Den to The Prairie Flame to PrideFest, we have a lot to be proud of. Come see Springfield through rainbow-colored glasses!

The total distance will be close to 2.5 miles, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water. There will be a few opportunities to take a short rest and water break, but the tour will last between 90 minutes and 2 hours in total. Questions are encouraged.

Meet in the library atrium, in front of the grandfather clock, at the start time. We will not cancel if there is light rain, but we will cancel if there is heavy rain or storms. Keep an eye out for an email in case of inclement weather!

Registration is required for this event, but it will be offered multiple times:

9am Saturday, June 1st, 8th, 22nd, and 29th
5:30pm Wednesday, June 5th, 12th, and 26th
